Equipment

Baseball is one of the most gear-intensive sports in the world, with the offensive, defensive, catching, hitting, and baserunning equipment each player needs. To make it more difficult, players are adding more and more specialized gear each year! Hopefully, by the end of this page, you’ll know what gear is required at Conifer, as well as what is recommended and what is unnecessary.

In addition, you can find helpful links on where to order the gear you’re missing!

Requirements for each player to have at each game:

  • Batting Helmet (Black)
  • Baseball Bat
  • Baseball Glove (different gloves are necessary for Catcher, 1B, Infield, Outfield)
  • Home and Road Jerseys (Conifer provides these to each player upon making a team)
  • Home (white with dark green piping) and Road (grey with black piping) Baseball Pants (More on that Below)
  • Baseball Belt (Green)
  • Baseball Socks (Black)
  • Appropriate footwear (molded cleats for home, any kind of cleats/spikes for road games. Turfs are not acceptable for game use, even on our field – they slip and kids can get hurt)

  • Athletic Cup
  • Cold Weather Gear/Layers to stay warm (Short sleeve shirts are not permitted in weather below 50º)

More Information

Team Hats
Conifer has Road and Home hats. The coach will generally tell you which to wear on which day. You may wear either to practice. Players pay what I pay for hats (about $20/hat for a NICE fitted cap with “C” on the front and additional decorations.) Payment is due as soon as you are assigned to a team, with a check made out to the “conifer baseball boosters”

  • Hat with white crown for home
  • All Black hat with green “C” for road games
  • L3 only wears the white crown hat
Spirit/Team Gear

We partner with one (or more) vendors to build us matching gear with our logos on them, that can be purchased easily without too much expense. Sometimes called ‘spirit gear’, this stuff can be purchased as official on-field gear, or as trendy ways to represent the Conifer Baseball brand – like at games, family reunions, weddings, funerals (there’s Black gear!) and baptisms! This year we’re working with Kocreators.com, who will offer lots of different products for players, fans, and lucky holiday recipients 😃.

Here, you’ll find all kinds of fun stuff for the whole family to wear. For players, our team store offers:
  • Baseball Pants
  • On-Field Hoodie
  • On-Field P.H.I.L. Shirt
  • Baseball Belt
  • Baseball Socks
  • Batting Helmet
You’ll also find training gear like:
  • Long sleeve shirts
  • Jackets
  • Gym Shorts
  • Hoodies
  • Beanies and other hats
For fans, the team store offers all the items above, in all kinds of sizes, plus loungewear, womens gear, fan hoodies, and lots more!

Note: Players can only wear the on-field hoodies to games, but can wear any other colors to practice.

Pants
The whole baseball pants industry is a steaming dumpster fire. Many companies don’t make pants in our colors. Others offer limited supply and then dont re-make. Many only offer pants in one style or limited sizing. Almost all baseball pants on the market are low-quality and tear upon sliding. Frustrated, we created numerous options this year to suit your needs. Here they are:
  • Victory offers professional caliber pants that will last. Made from high quality nylon/polyester, these pants are designed to be slid in and washed, over and over and over. They look great, offer under-foot elastic so they don’t rise, and hang really well from the waist. They’re also, by FAR, the most expensive. Perfect for players who want a pant to last more than one season, who aren’t worried about growing out of them.
  • Online Team Store. I’ve put some models of our pants in the Team store for purchase with the rest of your spirit gear. They’ll offer limited styles/sizing, but all stuff there will conform to uniform policy. The best option if you want to get all your gear in one place at one time, without additional time/shopping.
  • You can also buy home white pants with green piping from the Conifer Baseball Boosters. We made a custom order of Under Armor pants with green piping, and a Lobo on the front hip, for kids wanting to purchase pants directly from us. These are JUST the home pants (not road pants, which are readily available everywhere) and we have limited quantities and sizes. Inquire if interested.
New or Inexperienced players
You may be asking “I’m worried my kid isn’t good enough to play High School Baseball. Do I have to buy all this stuff if he might get cut?” NO! We’ve developed some workarounds for kids who may be worried about making a team. If you’re in this boat, talk to the coaching staff about ordering options! They may not be as good, but it’s better than spending a lot of cash in vain.
