Player Rules and Code of Ethics

Player Rules and Code of Ethics ensure that everyone is held to the same standard and is allowed to participate in a positive manner. Players must agree to these rule and code of ethics before the season starts and are not eligible to step on the field for the first day of practice until they agree to terms on this page.

Player Baseball Rules

    1. Attendance to all scheduled practices and games are mandatory. Attendance will be recorded.
    2. Team practices shall begin at 4:00 PM, unless otherwise designated in advance by the coach. Punctuality is expected.
    3. Unexcused tardiness and/or absences will affect starting position and/or playing time. Continued behavior could result in cause for termination.
    4. Academically ineligible athletes are automatically suspended from games for one week per Jefferson County schools. A second offense could be cause for suspension from games and practices for one week. A third offense will lead to separation from the team.
    5. Players are responsible for bringing the following to every practice and game:
      • Hat
      • Glove
      • Cleats
      • Warm layers
      • Proper Uniform (If Gameday)
      • Proper Baseball Pants
      • Bat
      • Athletic Cup
      • Sunglasses
      • Batting helmet
    6. Players are responsible for setting up the field prior to practice and cleaning up afterwards.
    7. Players will be responsible for returning school-owned gear and equipment in a timely manner. Failures to do so will result in fines or replacement of gear.
    8. Players are expected to be focused and attentive during practice, and to give maximum effort for all team sanctioned activities.
    9. When bus transportation is available for games played outside Conifer high school, all players will be expected to ride the bus to the game and back to Conifer high school. Parents can give verbal or written permission to retrieve their sons to take them home. No other figure can provide permission to excuse a player from riding the bus.
    10. All injuries should be reported to the coaching staff and Conifer trainer immediately.
    11. Players are expected to respect themselves, their school, their teammates, and the team at all time.
    12. Players must agree to abide by the Conifer Communication Policy:
      • a.      Players are expected to respectfully address coaches with concerns.
      • b.     If concerns cannot be resolved between players/coaches, parents should respectfully set an appointment with coaches to discuss issues.
      • c.      If concerns cannot be resolved between players/coaches, parents should respectfully set an appointment with coaches to discuss issues.
      • d.     If the situation continues to be a concern, the issue should be brought to the Athletic Director in collaboration with the Head Coach

    Conifer Baseball Code of Ethics

      1. I will commit myself to train and perform to the best of my ability. I will maintain a positive attitude and will strive to meet or exceed individual and team goals, established by my team, my coach and the team.
      2. Attend all practices and games on time, unless prevented from doing so because of injury, unforeseen emergency, or other reason, approved, in advance, by my coach.
      3. I will maintain control of my emotions during all competition.
      4. I will treat teammates, opponents, referees, and rules of the game with respect.
      5. I will refrain from using obscene, profane, or abusive language during all team activities.
      6. I will not use alcohol, drugs, or any tobacco products. I understand violating this policy will result in serious disciplinary action
      7. I will place the interests of the team before my own
      8. I accept the team rules, and I will do my best academically.
      9. I make all the foregoing commitments willingly, with the intention, that my teammates, coaches, and conifer high school is relying on me.
